New homes with building completing after the 30th of September 2008 will require an On-Construction Energy Performance Certificate, the certificate is part of the documentation provided to Building Control before they give their final stamp of approval for the home. The certificate details the energy characteristics of the new home and rates the home on a scale as well as providing a recommendation report on what elements of the home could be improved upon to increase the rating.
The On Construction EPC will be required by the solicitor carrying out the conveyancing for the purchase and by law this certificate must be in place prior to completion. The On Construction EPC or OCEPC is then stored on the national register and the building is given a unique number or ID.
The On-Construction Energy Performance Certificate can only be carried out by a fully qualified On-Construction Domestic Energy Assesor (OCDEA) registered with an accredited scheme.
For any more information follow the link into the site or post a comment here and i will either answer the question myself or go and find the answer and report back. Many thanks for taking the time to read this and hope to talk to you soon. Eunan.
